Kaizen assembly IE style

Kaizen as an industrial engineer sees it. I suspect this book was self published to promote the author's consulting biz. Hard to beleive that a publisher would print this of their own volition. Reading this book was a waste of time and money.

A Book I Can Use

I have read plenty of books on kaizen and how it can be used in a lean manufacturing enviroment, and this one is by far the best I have come across. Kaizen Assembly provides so much information on assembly line design, I was first surprised Ortiz had unlocked his consulting vault. The chapter on conducting time studies has really helped me get a better understanding of how to do them. We struggled for a long time on this and I feel his system is the best. Ortiz clearly has been doing kaizen and kaizen events. The information in this book on how to conduct a kaizen event could have only been written by somone who has been in the kaizen trenches for some time. He brings together kaizen and lean assembly in a language I can understand by showing real life examples of 5S, workstation design, visual management, and the 7 wastes. His outline for planning and execution is again so perfectly mapped out, I am looking forward to trying out his implementation techniques.

I am not the kind of person who writes comments to books I have read. I preordered this book with a lot of anticipation and it turned out to be what I expected..............a useable guide to lean implementation. The author unveils his secrets for sure and I found almost every page to be something I can use. Our company has been trying to find tools and resources that can be used to help us and we intend to order more copies of Kaizen Assembly for our lean program. His focus is on organization and following procedure with with tools and techniques I can use.

They are mimeographed copies that you have to cut.
They are not scaled to the card either.
In other words, they have one sentence on one card, with too much white space.

Coupled with his industrial experience, Liam spends time training and coaching in USA, Middle-East, Africa, Asia and Europe on the topic of project and program management. Excellent materials for passing first time

As a student of Liam's and having just passed the PMP exam this week, I can testify to the quality of the materials provided by Liam and the approach he takes to studying for the PMP exam.
Liam demonstrated complete mastery of the subject matter at all times – he has a way of presenting the material, broken down to component parts, which for me enabled a much simpler understanding of PMI’s logic. From here I was able to get into the PMP mindset and make sense of the PMBOK Guide materials.
I found Liam’s exam study guide really well paced and suitable for students who also work full time, as I do. The sample questions were completely representative of the actual questions in the exam, from the factual to the situational, and the really hard to the simpler (but tricky) questions. I was immersed in PMI in a way that prepared me mentally really well and gave me lots of confidence going into the exam that I was fully capable of dealing with whatever they threw at me. And I also felt I was prepared for all the possible pitfalls and common mistakes - that I would spot these and deal with them effectively.
And in the end I did, the exam doesn’t provide a score, but I passed the exam first time and I felt very confident throughout the exam that I was doing very well. Throughout the 4 hours and 200 questions, I never got disheartened or frustrated, primarily because I was fully prepared. Using Liam’s methods and materials is what got me there, so I’m very thankful to Liam and have no hesitation in highly recommending his book.

Liam knows his PMP stuff

I passed my PMP exam first time recently. I sincerely have to thank Liam Dillon for this. Having attended his preparation course, I received first hand experience of his amazing knowledge of project management, the PMBOK and how to approach the PMP exam. His materials and question and answers practice rounds were outstanding.
Preparation for the PMP exam is tough and can be stressful when one realisrs the volume of content in the PMBOK. Having Liams material helps reduce that stress by breaking down each chapter and Liam highlights items to note along the way. Give yourself a helping hand and order Liam book today!

Good quality questions but...

There are many good quality questions included but some editing errors and wrong answers are found in this book. I expected the answers provided should be explained more in detail to allow me to easily catch up the clear reasons behind all questions whether or not I choose the right answers but unfortunately there are many ambiguous, short, and even wrong explanations in answer sheets. I have to spend more time interpreting and clearly understanding the explanations with looking up other resources. In general, it might be good and recommended to those who are good at main concepts in PMBOK and want additional challenge to deal with vague questions and answers before taking PMP exam. But be aware of facing with many challenging answers which might make the readers being confused.

As my review is updated, I passed today PMP exam and this book was helpful.

Love the simplicity and interpretations behind the art

It's always fun to see an artist go through different moods, allowing for a variation of their artwork to shine through. What better way to connect with your inner-child than to allow yourself to play with art? There are no inhibitions in this artwork, and that's admirable. A couple of my favorites are "Balloons", "Lizard Skin #2", and "Roads Diverging". Nicely done. Thank you for the reminder to release my inner critic and to just create art.
